[4th Gen : 01-07]: Power Loss/No Acceleration when Gas Pedal is pressed to the floor
Hi Fellow Dodge Caravan Owners,
I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan EX FWD LWB Wagon, 3.8L V6 Engine. I am trying to narrow down the troubleshooting issue that is causing the issue.
The issue with the vehicle is that there is no corresponding acceleration when the gas pedal is pressed down to the floor. The vehicle moves on flat street but struggle to get power when the gas pedal is pressed down. The vehicle has a hard time struggling to get on uphill road.
can't pass over 20mph while driving on flat road and on uphill road the vehicle get stuck or struggle to get over the uphill street.
It is not a transmission issue as the vehicle can switch gears between shifts. I was told it could be a faulty catalytic converter but there was no code when the OBD scanner was installed. Is there any easy way to test whether a catalytic converter needs to be replace?
I don't know what exactly is causing the issue and we would like if anyone of you have similar experience with this issue.
Thanks!
