[5th Gen : 08+]: Silverrock denied claim for failing transmission
Recently I brought my 2019 Grand Caravan w/ 94,000 miles to a local transmission shop that is in the Silverrock network because I've noticed some strange symptoms from my transmission.
Most notably in stop and go traffic, especially when you abruptly change from using the brake to accelerating, it shifts pretty hard and there is some shuddering. Additionally it seems like every time I let off the brake pedal the transmission downshifts immediately which a little 'knock' sound. Also sometimes at red lights the car won't go when I press on the gas pedal then will jump forward abruptly.
Anyway, this is what the transmission shop texted me:
"The concerns you are experiencing are due to converter failure inside the transmission. The fluid is full but burnt and dark. Clutch and metal contamination from the converter has damaged the valve body."
The mechanic also told me 'he was getting error codes while driving' I'm guessing with some kind of reader so I'll have to get those error codes when I pick up the van.
They submitted it as claim to Silverrock, who sent out a technician, who ultimately could not duplicate the symptoms the shop reported so the claim was denied. Unfortunately, my warranty expires in July. The shop did say to bring the vehicle back any time and they would resubmit the claim as they feel I have a valid case for a failing transmission.
My question is, why would a technician simply drive the car around and report no symptoms but completely disregard the physical evidence??
