[5th Gen : 08+]: Brake lights not working
Hi I have a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan that I am working on that I just purchased and the two corner brake lights are not working as they should. The high mount (3rd brake light) light works fine. I have installed 3 different used TIPMS from ebay so far and each time the brake lights will work until the key is turned on and then about 5 seconds later they stop working. The turn signals work fine all the time and the running lights work fine all the time. Then once I install a new TIPM the process starts over again. My best guess is that something is shorting out on the van and burning up something inside the TIPM that controls the brake lights.
I have tried replacing the multifunction turn signal switch assembly, the brake switch, and one of the rear tail lights and nothing makes a difference. I pulled the fuel pump relays one time thinking maybe it was the fuel pump system causing the issue and it still did the same thing.
I am not a professional, but I do good with mechanical repairs, however electrical repairs I am still learning. I have an Xtool scan tool but I haven't had to use it for this sort of thing yet.
Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks in advance.
