[5th Gen : 08+]: Transmission question
So for my 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan SCT Flex It had a rebuild of transmission in Aug 2025..
Things were great until recently and thransmission makes a "wereing" sound not deep pitch but middle..
I took van into shop today and they confirm the transmission needs another rebuild.
This is all based off road test the did..
I dont drive lots maybe 10km a week max 90% of the time..
I dont speed or drive like a loon..
So they booked me in for another rebuild on the 15th.
The said they did a whole rebuild last time with all new OEM parts..
The said I am lucky I caught the issue this time as it is still under their warranty 1 year or 20,000km
Im not a vehicle tech so I need some info..
Could the issue that caused transmission to fail first time have damaged or heated up the Shafts in transmission wearing them down or warping them?
Im trying to figure out why it failed again and I dont know the right questions to ask..
So is there something I should ask the shop on the 15th when i bring the van in for the rebuild?
I know one day 2 week ago check engine light came on and went out after a few minutes..
I dont remember the code but it did have name "Transmission Solenoid", I had neighbour clear code so I could tell if it happens again, so the shop today could not recover the code to see it..
Thanks in advance
