Default '05 Dodge Caravan Mirror Help Needed

My passenger side mirror on my '05 Caravan was recently broken in a shopping mall parking lot. I got the replacement power mirror (non-heated), and unbolted my broken mirror without any problem. Then I went to disconnect the power lead to the mirror, and discovered it buried within the dashboard, unaccessible by just pulling the lead out as I thought I would be able to do. I removed the glovebox thinking I could get to it through there. No such luck...

Can anyone tell me how to access the lead to disconnect the mirror?? I doubt I'd have to take out the dashpad, passenger side air bag, etc. or do I?

Please help!

Thanks,
Jeff

I'd make the job easy on myself if I was doing it. I'd disconnect
the battery, cut all the wires as close as I can to the old mirror
and use inline butt splices to reconnect. Use a sealer to seal each
end of the each butt splice... I would guess the wire's are color
coded. If not, mark them before you cut.

Good luck..

All you have to do is pull the A pillar trim (runs up the right side of the windshield on the inside) and lift up the forward most piece of the dash panel and the connector is under there.

No, the connector is not under the A Pillar. When I remove the glovebox, I can see the wire come through the pillar, then it leads towards the center of the dashboard. I tried to follow it with my hand, but can't due to the limited space. It seems to go straight towards the center of the dash. i compared the length of the replacement mirror lead , and it can reach as far as the center of the dash. I'm assuming there is a way to access this connector without taking the dash out.

I know that the connector isn't under the a pillar trim. You have to remove the a pillar trim to lift up the forward most panel on the top of the dash to access the connector which is right next to the dash speaker (if your van has one) Its not behind the glove box

Yeah, all you have to do is what he said. The connector is right under the dash pad. Easy access.
