Default struts

I have a 99 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE, the Struts are pushing through
top of strut mount, cracks around top strut mounts. Is this a common
problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

No this should not be happening. This could be from a broken spring thats allowing the shock to bottom out or driving too fast over rough roads/speed bumps.

I had a 96 Grand Voyager with the right strut starting to pop through. When I went to sell it, the dealership said it was a common problem with them, particularily the right side. They would have fixed it for $450 CDN, but I decided to spend the money on a Ram!

Yes that is exactly what is happing on both sides. I have talked to a local deal and they said they will fix it for about 400 each side, I have decided to take the van to a local shop with a good rep to see what they will charge. My goal is to keep the van for a few more years then get another one, however, if this can not be fixed so that it is safe I’ll have to purchase a new van soon than I planned. If the problem can be fixed I think it may be worth paying the price at this point.
