Default Questions 98 grand caravan se

I have a 98 Grand Caravan SE with the 3.8l and recently she's been taking longer to start. It has 130k miles on it. I think it might be the starter or the spark plugs because it will crank twice before it acctually fires a majority of the time. What do you guys think?

Also I dropped my keyless entry remote in the dogs water bowl and need a new one. The dealership wants $40 for the remote and $80 to program it. I read on a ford forum that there is a way to program them without taking it to the dealer. Does anyone know anything about this? please help!
Thank you!

If it cranks over, it is probably not the starter. Check all the tune-up stuff first, like plugs, air-filter and wires. Most of the time with those symptoms, it something maintenance oriented. I'd say check the fuel filter, but i believe those are in the tank and not on the bottom rail on that one. Good Luck

I'm a 98 Caravan owner I think I read in the owners manual how to reprogram the fob.

I got a remote by ebay for $4.75 total shipped. Its still in the mail. But the instructions on how to program it are in the owners manual. You need a working remote to program another remote by yourself, otherwise you have to go to a dealer.
