Default 95 Caravan - Transmission issue

I will probably be buying my Broter in law's 95 Caravan. When accelerating or going uphill, anything that calls for extra power, the van shakes. At first I thiught it might be a motor mount but it only does it in gear. He says that the last mechanic he talked to suggested it was a transmission problem.

Does this sound like an adjustment or replacement issue?

Thanks,
BilgeRat

The first Thing I'd check would be a weak front motor mount putting the axles on a bind causing a vibration
but without driving it, It will be tough to diagnose !!!

I'd put a couple motor mounts in it-I'm sure they are shot but the vibration sounds like axles-they are cheap, replace them both and then make sure the engine/trans is centered in the engine bay. The easy way to check is with the vehicle sitting still, remove both axle nuts and push the ends in, they should both move into the hub about the same. If not you need to reposition the drivetrain assy in the engine bay so it is centered.
