Default 2005 door locks

Hi All -

I got in my van last night and the door locks would not work. Does anyone have any info on this? When pressing the buttons on the keyless remote, the lights still flash but the locks do not work. Is there a fuse for them?

Thanks for any info and have a great day!

Donna

I had the same thing happen twice on our 2005 GC within 2 years. Both times I took it to the dealer and they cleared the code (right door output failure). The next time I will just disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to try to clear the code. The dealer wants to replace the BCM. I don't thing thats going to work, since I have others had the same problem and that did not solve it. Let me know if it works.

I disconnected the battery for about 5 minutes or so. Once I reconnected it, the locks worked. Thank you!!!

Hey, thanks for the tip on disconnecting the battery. Yesterday my power door locks quit working too. I went out and tried disconnecting the battery on my van as soon as I read this and it worked for me too! Just today I called the local dealer to see about getting this problem figured out and the service rep didn't have any idea what it might be. It was going to cost me $75 just to get it into the door. Thanks again for taking the time to share the message.

The locks on my 2005 Grand Caravan keep quitting on me. I have done the disconnect battery thing twice in a weeks time & it solves the problem every time but it doesn't last. Does anyone have any input on this problem?

Just to chime in, there is a service bulletin on this issue and it involves reprogramming the body control module. The battery disconnect is a temporary thing, it will happen again. The dealer has to do the reprogramming and if the vehicle is under warranty its no charge to you.

Hey guys, finally some with the same problem. I too have a 2005 that the locks quit and I get it to work by unplugging the battery. Where can I print this bulleting on this issue so I can take it to the dealer, I have to show them some kind of proof or they think I'm crazy, they wanted to replace the BCM for $800 + Thanks

I believe the TSB is 08-028-05. Will call the dealer tomorrow myself to verify that.

Just bought a used 05 DGC and that issue cropped up 2 days after purchase. Found this forum and solution, printed and gave the vehicle back to the dealer. Just today the spouse informs me it's doing it again after 2 weeks. When I got it back the first time, the clock was suddenly 10 minutes fast. Methinks they just disconnected the battery to clear the code...
