Hi Everyone. I just purchased a 2002 Grand Caravan EL, and it's been great so far. But noticed some sort of simple pushbutton switch slightly below the dash near the parking brake. I've looked it up in the manual and even the Haynes repair manual-- but couldn't find any reference to it.

(My guess was that it was an alarm reset button-- but that didn't seem to work yesterday when my wife set off the alarm accidentally and couldn't start the engine. She pressed the button and still couldn't start the van until I came home from work with our only working keyless fob[:@])

Any thoughts what this pushbutton could be?

 

It calls Commissioner Gordon. It replaces the big red phone that used to be between the seats.

Just call a Dodge dealer. They'll know. Asd for the service manager.

 

Does this button look like it belongs there?
I don't know of any factory button in that area...???

I would guess that it is something the previous owner installed. (remote start, security, who knows)
