Default RE: another issue with my 98

No one else has input so I'll give a crack.

The power window motors are notorious for failing. And are replaced as a entire assembly. (Left and Right are different)
They are located in the back connecting to the glass.

Its common to open 1/2 way and slowly die.... eventually dead and no longer working.
They are fairly simple to replace.
Especially the driver side.
Remove the top plastic panel inside the back hatch. push clips hold it in place.
Then start pull gently the side panel to release the push clips from the top down.
You will see the motor inside the opening. There is just enough room to fit a socket on a short extension.
For the glass side, the metal clip can be removed or just pry open the ball from the socket with 2 screwdrivers.
The cam side also comes out from the motor. But I always had better luck removing the ball and socket.

Passenger side may need to loosen the rear ventilation pipes. (If equipped) Simple stuff to remove, but make sure to realign them back up properly or the connection wont fit on the motor side or the ceiling side.

I have replaced 3 dead cranks over the years.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck
