on a 1990 GC do you have to take off the plenum to get to the three rear plugs or am i not looking deep enough? and reading the forum I still haven't seen a clear choice on a good set of plug. any help would be appreciated

 

Taking off the plenum is one option that some guys have done. I've changed the plugs on both a 1995 and a 1997 Caravan by putting it up on ramps, working underneath, and reaching up through the tunnel where the exhaust pipe comes down. The plug on the passenger side is the hardest, you have to get it in and out mostly by feel. It's not easy, but can be done.

I've used both Autolite and Champion platinum plugs. Both worked good.

I just changed the plugs on my 97 Voyager 3.3 and it was not very hard. To get at the passenger plug, release the serpentine belt and remove the 4 bolts holding the alternator bracket on top. Swing the alternator back and the spark plug is within easy reach.

I've got a 91 with a 3.0. I just remove the air cleaner assembly at the firewall and can access the plugs easy from there. Can't see them but I use a long extension with a angle joint at the spark plug socket.

 

if its a 3.3, it can be easily done from up top with a few extentions, & use NGK V-power plugs, i've never had an issue with these, unlike the crap that Champion puts out

I agree i used the NGK V-power plugs and changed them from under the van
