Hello Everyone, My girlfriend's van is making a clicking/tapping noise that can be heard at idle inside the car that is coming from a device in the right (passenger side) front corner of the engine compartment. This device has a fuel line to it and a fuel line to the engine and it has a wirre harness to it. You can feel the clicking - sort of about the rate of a valve tap. What is this thing and does the clicking mean that it's starting to fail? Oops, 1996, v-6. Thanks for any help, Victor

 

That would be the EVAP purge solenoid and there is a TSB on the issue. No problem with the solenoid, just that it is audible.
