The interior blower in my 96 grand caravan only works when the blower speed control switch is rotated to the highest setting.

Does this sound like a problem with the switch itself or is there another place I need to look first? (The 40A blower fuse in the power distribution center is okay.)

Sounds like a blower motor resistor. Part # is 4677180AD and should run about $15 and is located at the back of the engine compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle under the wiper module.

 

Thanks for the recommendation--I'll go ahead and replace the resistor, and let you know how it turns out.

The resistor was indeed the problem--one wire had completely corroded off the breadboard. I replaced the resistor and the blower works like a champ. Interestingly, the dealer knew the exact part number by heart. Must be a common problem.
