dont know if this was my problem ot not(knock on wood), but after new fuel pump and filter and cleaning injectors and new plugs, nothing helped. started running the van locked out of overdrive, and took plugwires off coil, and cleaned contacts on coil and wires, now runs great even in overdrive!!. either running motor at higher rpm's flushed injectors, or cleaning contacts solved problem. coil contacts were coroded. Dont know if this was problem or not, but running fine now. anyone having same problem may check these out as possible solution. Thanks for all your ideas!!!

 

That seems to pretty much answer the question of why it wasn't working. Sometimes simple solutions are best. Glad you fixed the problem and thanks for the share.
