95 caravan tire wear
I have a 1995 caravan that eats through tires fast. The outside of the tires will be bald while the inside of the tires still has about 1/4" of tread. I am thinking that this is caused by the camber being a little bit off. What I am wondering is, how would I go about adjusting the camber?
Yeah its too much positive camber (Wheels tilt away from the engine at the top). Its done by looseing/adjusting the bolts on the strut assembally where it connects to the steering knuckle. Are you using a rack somewhere or tram guages in the driveway??
The best way to adjust anything to do with the wheel alignment is to take the van to an alignment shop.Yes you can do the job yourself with gauges but for $50 it's just not worth it.They can also find problems that require immediate attention that you might overlook.
BTW there's no saving the tires, you might move them to the rear and get a few more miles out of them but fixing the alignment won't cause them to wear evenly.I would get the new tires before the alignment.Minutes before, not days!!!!!
