It could either be the torque converter or the transmission pump. With the low mileage i'm gonna bet on the torque converter. Good Luck.

I have 2002 Caravan SE V6 and 43K miles. I have a simliar grinding/whining noise when I approach a stop. It starts at 20-30 mph and gets louder at a stop. It then makes a high pitch squealing noise as i am accelerating, then goes away. This noise only happens the first 15-20 minutes i drive until engine is at normal operating temp.

I appreciate the feedback...before I empty my pockets to the dealer!
