I have a 2000 Caravan, base model and want to replace the engine.

I would like to know which engine(s) are compatible with my car? How much am I looking at spending? Is it difficult to swap the engine?

Why don't you just put the same type in?

Cost depends on where you buy the engine from but look to spend at least $750-$1000 to install it.

Nothing is difficult if you have the correct tools & knowledge.

 

If it's a base. you're looking at either the 2.4L I-4 (4 Cylinder) or the 3.0L V6. I would reccomend swapping it out with the same engine, it'll save you a lot of headache. What is causing the engine change? If you try and locate a 2.4L only look for ones that were from a caravan as they have a different intake and such as compared to the ones in a stratus, etc.
