Hello - we have an '04 Caravan (short wheel base) with the 3.3L engine that we tow a 2300 lb pop up trailer with. We have added coil over shox at the rear that works very well at keeping the tail end up off the ground. However, we like the size of the van, but would like a tad more towing poop up the hills. I understand from the dealer that the transmission used on the 3.3 is the same used on the 3.8, which has about 40+ HP and a bit more torque than the 3.3. I'm wondering if anyone might know if anyone has made a sucessful swap out replacing the 3.3 with a 3.8? Is this swap a possibility without too much hassle? Thanks.

 

I think you'll come out cheaper selling and trading up for a used 2004 GC/T&C with the 3.8. good luck
