Change points for 3spd 3L v6 Caravan(96)
Hi folks,
Can someone out there in dodgeland tell me the speed at which my newly acquired van is meant to change from 1st gear to second (during slow acceleration)? I looked everywhere including the Haynes manual & workshop manual but I couldn't find the appropriate specs.
My 96 caravan (3spd 3.0L 1996) changes into 2nd from 1st at 45 km/h (28 miles/h) during slow acceleration. Does this sound ok to you guys? To me, the engine sounds like it's revving high at this point. My tranny also changes into 3rd at around 85 km/h (53 miles/h) at slow acceleration. I believe the change points are similar during hard acceleration too. The changedown points are identical.
