valve cover gasket

Can anyone tell me how to install correctly a valve cover gasket, I'm looking to do it by myself,someone told me to put gasket sealer only on the corners any advise?. Voyager 96 , eng.3.0.

Thats the way to do it, thats just to be sure that the vc gasket seals over the camshaft journals on the cylinder head.
