We have a 2002 Grand Caravan. Long story short, check engine light on, runs great hands down. I checked the codes using the ignition switch, 2 code come up: 168.4 and 070.0.. I know the 0700 is Transmission Control System Malfunction, but I have no idea what the really means. Also, I have no clue what the other code is or means.

When the light 1st came on, we took it to our mechanic and he told us all it nneded was transmission fluid / filter change. Did that, paid him $160.00, 2 days later the light came back on.. That is when I got the codes, and now I am here before I fork over more $$.

Never heard of a 168.4 code before, the p700 usually is a TCM issue. Autozone or one of the other parts palaces will read you codes free. Check them to get a different reading.

 

Just had the same thing on my Grand Caravan, Checkers says it is transmission but that's it. What did you do to correct your issues?
