I have a code 456 on a 2002 Caravan. Is this something the average do-it-yourselfer can fix? If so, please give details.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Yes. Easy fix. It is very likely to be a crack on one of the hoses on the gas tank gases purge canister located underneed the van, almost directly below the driver seat. You will see this plastic box about 14 by 12 inches with like 4 hoses connected to it. a crack on 1 of these hose is very common. If that dont fix it, get a new gas cap for about 12 bucks. This is call the Purge Canister. After the repair, disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds to see if the code goes away. please let me know.

Hi guys,

I had the same issue with a friends van. After reading your post I found one of these hoses (different hose to the canister) leaking at both ends. Thanks for the post. Was an easy fix.
