Default Confirmed Dealer Mark-Up

Hey all,
Monday was the first day that the Dealers could place orders for the 2008 SRT-8 Challenger. I was 3rd on the list at my dealer, and there is rumored to be only (5) or so Challengers delivered to each dealer. Seeing as I was only behind the Sales Manager and the Fleet Managers brother on the waiting list, I got a call on Monday asking me if I still wanted to order a Challenger. Cool! So I called her back on Tuesday and left a message indicating that I was interested, but only if it was a Manual and had no Dealer Mark-Up. Everything that I have read indicated the 2008 Challenger SRT-8 drivetrain will be equal to the Magnum SRT-8, Charger SRT-8 and the300 SRT-8. 6.1 with an Automatic. She confirmed this. Also, she indicated that Management had agreed that there would be a Mark-Up on this vehicle. Now keep in mind that this is the sole dealer in Southern California that did not have a Mark-Up on the 2005 Magnum RT when I bought mine in September of 2004. Oddly enough, the Dodge Dealer in Irvine had the least Mark-Up on the Magnum at $3,000 above sticker. No surprise that the 'Rip-Off Kings' at Huntington Beach Dodge had the highest Mark-Up at $10,000 above sticker. So I was kind of insulted when I was told that the Mark-Up on the Challenger would be $9,950 above sticker. That sucks! So, I have decided to spend my $10,000 in a more practical way. I will wait for another year or more, and once the Public Eye has gotten use to seeing the Challenger, the Mark-Up will fade away. Also, about the same time, Dodge should introduce additional Options for the Challenger, just as soon as the Lifetime Warranty program is scraped. (which is the ONLY reason the 6.1 was not labled an RT, as originally planned, IMO) I would gladly spend more for the 2011 Challenger with many options including a Convertable Model and a 6.4 Engine and Manuall Transmission.
