Default 0-60 times on R/T manual vs auto?

Hello, I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the extra 1k to get the manual or just stick with the auto. My primary concern is I wonder how the much less the 0-60 time on auto is than the manual. I'm not planning to race it, but a big part of the reason to get one is so you can get moving when you need to.

Plus a manual is more of a pain in traffic, and you lose 1mpg, but they can be A LOT of fun. For all I know the auto can get to 60 just as fast, but I'd like to know. No reviews are getitng that specific. Kinda paranoid since my current Celica auto is a bit of a dog on take off compared to it's manual counterpart.

You loose 1 MPG? That is strange. Did they finally put a different gear it in the manual??

0-60 times when you talk about manual trannys are all about the driver. A car rated at 5.2 can be 5.2 up to 6. There are many who think they can shift but really are just OK at it and as a result most cars on the road are quicker if they have an auto in them.

2 grand in Canada to get the manual, no mds with the 6sp but that's fine with me.

The automatic may have quicker 0 to 60 times, but a 6sp in way more interactive, I have heard its a viper transmison. as for driving in rush hour, I drive a 06 2500 6sp with the hemi, so it don't bug me at all.

A 6sp will get better mpg than the automatic.

The reason for this is that the automatic has MDS and the manual does not. The 1mpg loss is in the city and logically, if you are at a idling point, it will use more fuel running on all eight than just running on four.

Cyclone, it's hard to say at this point which would do better. Although the manual has the gearing advantage and manuals are more efficient, the MDS is a real fuel saver. Our Administrator cites that his inlaws have a 300C and they claim to be able to get 30mpg with it.

I would go for the manual personally as manual has more performance potential, they last longer, and I believe would probably be faster. The gearing is more favorable to the manual and I know the magazines claimed that the manual made the Challenger SRT-8 a tenth faster in the 0-60 run.
