Default Challenger--Is It True?

That it can't be ordered with power passenger seat. If so, why not?

That is correct. The passengers seat is a manual operation and that is how you get people into the back seat. You cannot get people in the back via the drivers seat....

Really seems strange. Seems like a quick-release system could be used. Maybe something similar to the release on garage door openers.
After all, the front passenger of a car of that price should have the same comfort as the driver.

My apologies in advance for posting on an old thread, but I have to give my 2 cents worth.

I don't mind at all that the passenger seat is the way it is. I paid for a muscle car. That's what I wanted and that's what I got. Had I been concerned about creature comforts, I would have bought something else. If someone is going to have people in and out of the back seat that often that it is an issue, then maybe a different car is in order. Also, I have never had one complaint (except from my kids who are 10 & 11 and only ride in it to the local ice cream parlor) from anyone riding in the back seat about how they got in or the amount of room. Everyone (old enough to appreciate it) appreciates it for what it is.

And by the way, there is a quick release on the back of the passenger seat. It's just not powered.

The seats have been changed for 2011. Found this Dodge released article, read the last paragraph.

New interior styling will delight

The precise performance handling of the Challenger SRT8 392 comes to life through a new, right-sized, three-spoke steering wheel that features a carbon fiber accented leather wrap and silver metallic painted spokes at the 3-, 6- and 9 o’clock positions.

The trapezoidal instrument panel features a four-bomb gauge cluster with chromed accent rings and unique, new for 2011 SRT graphics. Inside the cluster, the SRT-exclusive Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) with performance pages provides the driver with trip information, multimedia information from the Media Center radio, along with instant feedback on 0-60 mph time, 60-0 mph braking, G-forces, one-eighth mile and quarter-mile times.

Power lumbar-equipped front seats are standard on all Challenger SRT8 392 models. It’s also much easier to get in and out of the rear seat. The driver’s seat now features seatback tilt with memory and an easy to reach release handle, while the front-passenger seat adds tilt and slide with memory, which makes it even easier to use.

That was pretty good of them to make those updates. It tempts me to retrofit mine. But even so, I don't mind that I don't have those features now.
