Default Why Can't We Have a Convertible Challenger?

Someone finally wrote about this. "The 2015 Dodge Challenger was designed to feature some styling cues of the 1971 Challenger and while the automaker has succeeded with this evolutionary design – there is still no convertible and the lack of a droptop version in a segment that obviously appreciates the open air freedom really blows my mind," writes Patrick Rall in Torque News.

I can't post the story's picture here as it's copyrighted, but you can see a picture of a convertible Dodge Challenger in the story at

So my question. Should Dodge consider a convertible Dodge Challenger? Is there a segment for it?

With the top down, they look pretty good, but when you put the top up it looks like poop. We need hardtop options!

A friend also shared with me this.

"
Because of the extra weight a convertible adds. Plus they aren't selling in general as much in the US anymore."
