Default Radio problem

I have an issue with my radio and I'm looking for a solution. About a month or so ago I was on vacation. When I started to leave to come home, all of a sudden the radio sound started cutting in and out, so I turned off the radio, drove for about 20 minutes to half an hour, turned it back on and had no issues the rest of the trip (5 hours). When I got home, however, after I turned off the car and turned it back on the next day, it started cutting in and out again, and only twice has it worked regularly since then. I took it to a dealership. The tech said it was my amp, I bought an amp, put it in problem still there, checked wiring and speakers, no issues with them. So I'm at a loss!!! What could the problem be?
My vehicle is a 2011 Challenger.

If you've checked/replaced everything but the head unit, then, maybe it's the head unit...

Head unit was checked, and is fine. I'm questioning whether it's my push button start. Because when I've looked at the amp, I hear a clicking sound like the one that happens when I start the car. Also while driving, I hear it a little less. So I'm wondering if my push button start might be causing the issue. Sometimes it takes a little to start and other times it starts right up. So I don't know and the technician at my local dealer is stumped also.

Just a quick FYI!!! I did discover the problem. The fan on the side of the head unit quit working so it caused it to overheat. So it was the head unit after all!!! Thanks for the information!!!
