Default Jerking while up/down shifting in Challenger

Hey guys, my Challenger (2016) V6 is currently having an issue during the automatic gear shift. There is a noticeable jerk in the first 4 gears (it's an 8 speed). This wasn't that noticeable at the start, but has progressively become worse over time. It's been about a month since the problem started.

The mechanic I'm dealing with is unsure about the exact problem but he suggested that we should try replacing the gear oil with filter/pan.

I just wanna know your opinion regarding whether or not this is the best course of action I can take. For the record, the mileage is 161,000 KM or 100,000 miles.

That would be my first step. Service the transmission. Scanned for codes?
