Challenger Gas Cap?
That's right, it's a fairly short filler tube that goes straight down into the top rear of the gas tank and with the new Challenger being a taller car it would be a more downward filler tube especially with the higher plate location like the Cuda's have.
I'd bet it ends up with just a standard door on the side on the production model since they already said no flip top cap style and the behind the license plate simply wouldn't be fesable as it's way to low to the ground, it was feasable on older cars because their plates were much higher up on the car.
Funny thing was I didn't even relize there was no visable gas cap/door untill I read this thread.

it would be almost impossible to have it behind the plate, unless they move the plate...look at this picture, and my very crude placement of the tank and location of where the filler tube would have to go would make it impossible..

Another option may be behind a small door in the long rear light panel. Since they've said they won't do the neon lenses as on the concept, this could create an option, eliminate the height issue as well?
