Not About My Neon, But Help Anyway??
Ok, so this isnt a post about my Neon, but it IS about a Dodge, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try and see what help I can get from the people here. This is about my boyfriends Charger Daytona. He has this amazingly beautiful car: http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...erasPics/2.jpg and he's heard that there's an update that could help it perform at its best. If anyone here knows of anyone who can help us out in Southern Cali, we would really really appreciate it. Instead of trying to word it myself and risk getting parts of it wrong, I'm just going to cut and paste exactly what he told me he needed:
basically I need someone who has a Starscan Tool that's upgraded to version 7.02 or higher and can connect to Daimler Chrysler for updates to update the firmware on my Transmission Control Module. the TCM update. it updates to part number "AK". i have "AE" for my transmission.
So there you have it. If anyone can help us out, that'd be so great. I hope you're all having a great week!!
Oh, and we're in Huntington Beach, so the Orange County area would be best, but we don't mind a drive. Thanks again!!

Finding someone w/a starscan, besides a dealership, isn't going to be easy. If you find a local LX meet and greet of substancial size then you might get lucky if someone there would have one.
Best bet is talk to some dealerships and tell them you experience an awful downshift when stepping on the gas getting onto the highway from a ramp. Then mention it’s hurting your neck when it snaps down a gear
their going to listen better if your claiming bodily injury from their product. Inquire about a TSB 21-020-06 which you heard about that would fix the tranny.

Busybee - welcome!
Where did he get his info? There is, I believe, a new TCM that Mopar Performance is bringing out. I think that he would have to go to a dealer and inquire about a "flash" (I think that's what he is wanting) to update his TCM. There is a flash for SRT-8s that is supposed to work on the 5.7 Hemi - it make the transmission think it's an SRT-8 Transmission. I guess I would contact a dealer and ask about this update, cause I'm sure DaimlerChrysler is going to be very hush, hush about anything and NOT let just anyone into their computer systems.
I know there are some on here who know a whole lot more about this than I, and hopefully they will chime in soon. At any rate - welcome and good luck

PS: Well, there ya go! Mango beat me again
