Default Sun roof

I was curious if eveyone had this problem w/ thier sunroof. When I open my sunroof the black plastic clip pops up anddrags in the wind ,makes a lot of nosie. I retracts back down when i close it.

I cant even use my sunroof with out a annoying nosie.

Does this happen to everyone?

Banana,

I have the same black plastic strip (different configurations of holes or notches) on my Chevy SUV and my Pontiac GT. I believe it upsets the flow of air and forces it into the car -- I've put small wood blocks to keep the strip down, and the wind seems to just go over the sunroof hole and not enter the car...

Your right, in the wind noise is much reduced when the strip is held down.

Explain the wood blocks in more detail? I may want to adopt your fix.

Thanks for the reply.

LOL. My simpleton fix, was to use two pieces from a wooden popsicle stick. Using sharp wire cutters, cut the stick into two small length pieces that are long enough to fit into the metal groovesso that they push down the two wires that allow the plastic air dam to raise.Just push theminto placekeeping theair dam down, usually near the end of the slotted gooves, just above the wires. I remove them everytime I close the roof to prevent any damage to the slide mechanism. Itworkedfor me.

PS: I've always liked your posted photo. Pretty cool.
