Anybody rolling on Proxes 4
I'm thinking about going with Toyo Proxes for new shoes. Read a few reviews on them and they get good ratings but they were on smaller cars. Nothing with our weight. Anybody have them on their Charger or car of similar size?
I've know of some folks that have them and they love em.
Had to do some leg-work and see how they compared and the findings are...
Dry Wet Snow Handling Comfort Noise Tread Wear
4.5 4.2 3.4 4.5 3.8 3.7 2.9 BFG KDWS
4.7 4.3 3.2 4.6 4.5 4.5 4.1 Toyo Proxes S/T

Baldy, I was pretty sure you had them but I couldn't find the pictures of way back when you put the new shoes on. How many miles? How's the tread wear looking? (minus the burnout factor)[sm=gears.gif]What did you pay? A local retailer quoted $265 per tire (mounting, balancing & valve incl). A couple of websites had the tire price at $161-$165 for my size. I don't know, $100 for m,b,v, per tire sounds kind steep... OK $400 FOR THE WHOLEFREAKING JOB SOUNDS REAL STEEP!! What do you think? A'm I a cheap ***** or reasonable guy? Oh..by the way, happy Labor Day enjoy the weekend.
Thanks Baldy for confirming whatIthought I smelled......atoro fecal matterripoff. Gonna purchasefrom a web retailer & get the new tps from Wykoff Chrylser a couple of miles from my house. A local shop that takes care of my dept's cars said he'd put it all together for $75.
sounds right .We paid that for 20"s !!!is that what you are getting?

Yep. The Miata tire calculator reads 245/45/20 are only slightly larger than my stock size . No adjustments to the suspension or speedo needed. The tire calculator puts the speedo at 60 and the actual speed is 60.2 mph.
Sure am! Changed out for 20s and went with Toyo Proxes 4 and new rims. I paid $169/per tire installed. Do some internet searching and you can find them much cheaper than what tire shops will sell you. I have no problems with them.
