On monday I almost traded my 3.5 SE and up graded to an 06 R/T that cost almost $4G under the book vaule with 20K miles on it but there's one thing I'm not sure of and this happened to me once before with another R/T I test drove.

I wanted to test drive the car on the highway so when Igot on the on ramp and accelerated to the speed limit, than right when I got off the ramp the car started to slowing down I thought it was scary cause this time I'm on a busy freeway and when the speedodormetergotaround 30mph it kicked back up I'm guessing 4 out of the 8 cylinders shut down.

Now, when something like this happens is there a faster way to get out of whatever mode the car is in or should you just wait it out until it kicks back on? I'm not to familiar with this feature.

 

sounds like the car may have gone into limp mode.Did the engine loose total power? When it goes into limp mode the computer restricts the power output to about 30%.Did you get on it real hard to get on the freeway? Another thing I noticed with my R/T is that when I get on it (while in drive) it stays in the last gear a bit longer after I let up on the throttle,so it seems like the car is engine braking.Using the engine as a brake.As far as good or bad that is debateful.
The MDS mode you will not even know when it kicks in or out.

It felt like the car like that a little I didn't go hard when I was going on the Freeway. I forgot to mention when it was slowing down the engine light turned on than when it snapped out of whatever mode it was in the engine light turned off and that's when I started to accelerate.

 

I would have that checked and maybe not buy that certain car. There is a reason that light came on and with the computer on this car it could be almost anything. But most likely it went into limp mode and that is not good.

Thats the second R/T I test drove that did that but this one actually started to accelerate before I came to a complete stop. I got lucky that day cause the shoulders were closed because of construction.
