I wanted to wait until I purcahsed my Charger before I made my 1st post but that may be awhile now. I just went to the Dodge website and saw that they updated it to the 08 and that they no longer offer the 3.5 engine with the SE. OUCH! I will not buy the 2.7 and will have a hard time affording the SXT with the 3.5. Especially now that the rebate offer is only $500.

So I turn to you forum members for some advise. I know that they will probably raise the rebate offer but how long will I have to wait for them to do that? The extra time will allow me to save some more money but I have already been waiting a year.

Could always try to look on dealer sites.You can see what they have on the lots and even what equipment is included.They will offer rebates and such. With 08s out they might deal on an 07.

thats what id do...there are always left over cars of the previous year model that are still brand new. and they will be more willing to deal on these than on a year model that just came out. when year models change over is one of the best times to buy a new vehicle. especially last year with the surplus of DCX vehicles, they were practically giving them away. my dad bought an 07 qc ram 4x4 hemi lonestar edition nicely equipped for 2k less than he paid for his 03 qc ram 4x2 4.7 with no options other than the standard SLT package. both trucks were purchased brand new. so just keep an eye out and you will find what you are looking for.

also might try looking for a slightly used vehicle. might get lucky and find something someone bought, and didnt like or had an unexpected lifestyle change that forced them to get rid of the car while it was barely used. might be able to find a nicely equipped 06 R/T for about the same price as a brand new base model.

Go to the specs page. It shows all 08 sxt's with 3.5s. I found as Dodge updates the website itdoes notalways update everything.

You mine as well go with the SXT they come with a little bit more features that the SE. I have the 3.5 SE and I've been talking to people at the Dodge dealership cause I'm thinking about trading my 3.5 SE for a new AWD R/T I heard all brand new Dodgevehicles except certain models like the SRT's that were purchased after January 2007have a lifetime warrenty on the engine. I just found that out the other day when I was at the Dodge dearlership.

Try to talk the sales person to making your monthly payments where you want them to be and let them know if I'm not satisfied than I'm kicking rocks and I will talk to someone elsewho wants to make money while I'm saving money.
