Default PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm in the middle of changing out my stock exhaust to a Borla exhaust ...all this in the middle of my driveway. Well I am to the part to remove the exhaust and it seems to be stuck from the H-pipe. I've loosen the clamps all the way and the clamps aren't coming off. I don't know if they are tac welded on there or what. I've heated them up, used penetrating oil and still nothing. Was anyone else's stuck like this. I thought this was going to be all bolt on. Is there a screw or something on the top side of the clamp that holds this in place that I can't see [:@]?!?! Any help here would be great, I NEED HELP.

Thanks you guys,
Mike

Have you loosened, or taken the "cross over" support bracket down? This can be a cause of problems, and, when put back, you will probably need to shim it somehow or it will rattle against the new exhaust.

If I recall correctly some of the clamps are spot welded on but that doesn't keep the pipes from coming apart. Your Catback should have clamps that should be used with the new pipe.

Dave is right, if you haven't taken tht brace off you will need to. When putting it back in use a small scrap piece of 1x2 or something that is 1/2 to 3/4" to shim the pipe away from the brace. Once it all tightened up knock that shim out.

I knew you two would be a great help. Well I had to get to work so I just threw the passenger side exhaust back into the one hanging bracket and took her to an exhaust shop. Well I was right with what I felt, the clamps were spot welded on...however, the pipes were not. I didn't realize it, but I was getting somewhere with it. I had moved the pipes about 3/4" and needed another 1 1/2" or so to go. The exhuast placed jacker her up and within 2 minutes had her free. Only charged me $20 for it. I'm currently at work so when I get home tomorrow I'll be putting the new one on. I hope I can get her on straight.

Thanks again Dave and Mango.
Mike

As soon as I get it on, I'll try and add some photos
