Default exhaust upgrade

I have been concidering an exhaust upgrade but was told that the upgrade would not help much. I have a 2006 Dayton Charger R/T and was told that Dodge upgraded the exhaust when they were built to acquire the extra 10 HP so upgrading to the Borla or MagnaFlow systems would not help in that matter. Has anyone upgrade and was there any difference?

Yes I have upgraded and it definitely made a difference!!! I went with the Borla system and it really woke the car up. Everybody has their favorite brand but a good cat back is worth the investment. Better yet, spring for headers as well. Since you'll have most of the exhaust off already, installing those puppies should be easier with the pipes out of the way.

Your right edge56, it will help but gains will be marginal.

Put that 400-1000 Hemi bucks into a cam or headers or tuner or nitrous, you will get much better HP gains there. Once your pushing 50+ HP over stock then look at the Catback.

I didn'tupgrademy car that way but in hind sight that is what I would do.
