Yes, I did feel a noticeable difference. With a little luck, and my son's help, I'm hoping to get mine dyno'd in the next couple weeks. That will be the telling evidence about whether this "stuff" really helps or not. But it is quite a bit stronger feeling.

Well I'd love to hear the results, my charger is actually my wife's car and she'd like to beef it up a little (which is awesome) but just don't know what to do and what to get. I'd love mpg like yours and if the hp is a big increase then I might just mirror your setup.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever heard of someone leaving the resonators on and removing the suitcase muffler from underneath? I yanked the resonators and left the stock muffler but I don't like the drone. Was wondering if I'd have any luck the other way.

Have you thought of getting a k&n filter? Although it would seem that those filters are geared more towards racing and for everyday use some people say they are not that great. But maybe someone else who actually has one can tell you more on that. On another note i did end up purchasing a charger sxt, red in color. The magnum was too "roomy" for my needs. I pick the car up this thursday, can't wait

I used to have a 98 trans am before the hurricane got her. Had an aftermarket ram air hood that was funtional with a K&N filter. Could pull one of the tires off the ground an inch or two and it was mostly stock. ram air hood, hypertech reprogrammed, 3.73 gears and exhaust. ran 12.90s. it was a freakin BEAST!! Don't know if the R/T will ever be like that :-(

No, the R/T won't be like your Trans Am, at least not without some major money put into it. These Chargers are fairly heavy. I'm not sure if anyone thing - other than the tuner - did that much on its own. I think its the combination of everything working together. I do know that, when I get into it good, the CAI (cold air intake) really makes it sound good - kind of like the old days when cars had dual quads and they both open up and really suck that air in .

Whatever you do with your exhaust, DO NOT get the Magnaflow system. It has a pretty good drone (often referred to as the "Hemi drone") when it goes into the MDS mode. I've heard of guys replacing the "suitcase" with a couple "cherry bombs" or like glass packs that helped eliminate the drone, and made the exhaust sound better.

Default RE: Charger Questions

Hey guys i have more questions again. I do love my charger except when i went to purchase it the salesman said it was the sxt model but i wondered well why no fog lights and other features and then when i went to get insurance for it the bill of sales said charger se. Aargh i missed that. So question is how can i tell what charger i have? The sxt has the 3.5 plate on the side of the vehicle does it not? I have autostick so i assume it's a 3.5 but i am thinking it's an se with the 3.5 option. Also what's the difference between the sxt and the se 3.5? When i test drove i remember having seen a 3.5 on a vehicle and i don't think they would have switched vehicles on me, it was probably the magnum i test drove that had 3.5 on the vehicle.

Thanks,
Pat

It could have the 3.5 and NOT be an SXT. If you thought you were buying an SXT and ended up with an SE, I'd go talk to the sales man. SXTs have more options - more like the R/Ts - than the SEs.

charged viper sounds like you got the se. Hey 74scamp, do you still have the engine cover with the CAI?

Naw, I took the engine cover off. Can't tell much difference, i.e., if it's running cooler or not by the temp gauge in the car. I'd like to put the 180* thermostat in, but haven't yet.
