Rear Passenger Side Suspension Popping/Pinging
About a week ago I was pulling out of my driveway and bumped the rear passenger side tire on the curb. Ever since then I have been hearing a sporadic popping/pinging sound coming from the rear tire area. No fluid leakage yet, i have been keeping an eye on that. Today It really made a sharp popping/pinging sound when I pulled out of a convenience store onto the road. What's going on? Just replaced a front outer tie rod, what next?
It can be several things. It could be something as easy as the jack under the spare in the trunk came loose. Of course the front tie rod replacement doesn't add any value to your rear end issue.
It sounds like you can make the sound happen. I suggest you narrow the scope by having someone stand on either side and make the sound happen, once you narrow which side it's coming from take the wheel off and inspect everything. From your description of what happend the rear passanger side is suspect.
Good luck and keep us in tune with what you find.
