Post '07 Dodge Charger R/T AWD Performance Help

I recently just purchased a '07 Dodge Charger R/T AWD that I have waiting for me back home when i return from Afghanistan... I am looking at upgrading the engine to get more HP out of the engine along with keeping the fuel mileage. If anyone could send me any suggestions that would be great! Let me know if there are any suggestions or things I should do differently, this is my first Charger.

I plan on doing the following:
phase I
K & N Cold Air Intake
Airaid Throttle Body Spacer
Diablo Sport Predator
phase II
Headers
Exhaust
phase III
Rims
Tires
phase IV
Ram Air Hood
Rear Spoiler
Thanks for any help!

Well I would switch you phase 1 with your phase 2 mods. The exhaust set ups on these cars are pretty restrictive and need to be opened up before any real mods. Plus changing out the exhaust will turn out to be cheaper to start. (I don't know what your money situation is or how much you plan on spending).

After you get her to breathe out a little better then you can move on to getting the CAI and THEN the Predator. The predator will work best once you actually have the mods on. Once you get the predator, I would suggest spending the money to tune it at a dyno. The predator has preprogrammed tunes for easy upload, but the predator also has some custom settings that you may be able to squeeze and extra 10 or more HP if you have a dyno available.

For rims and tires. Are you going to go flashy, or looking for racing. You can have both, but a little more expensive. Look at the weight of the rim. There are some pretty reasonable priced rims out there, but they are anchors and can effect the driving of the car. If you are going to spend the money on those mods to get the extra HP, you don't want it to goto waste by putting on heavy *** rims. Did your car come with the 20's? If so, I would reccomend having those custom painted. They will be one of the lightest sets that you can find and many have them painted / redipped or whatever to make them their own.

Rear spoiler will be more of a what you like thing here. You just want to make sure that you get a wing that stays within the body width. Anything that is going to hang over is going to effect the driving.

The hood, make sure you get a functional to the airbox hood. The OEM hood is semifunctional to flow air near the headers to keep them cool. There are some aftermarket hoods that you can get that will flow the air to the air box, which is what you want. Stay away from the carbon fiber hoods. I have bought, seen and hated, and returned them. They are semi functional and the mfg's can't mold the carbon fiber over the nostrils of the hood with out the carbon fiber cracking.

I hope some of this helped you out with what you are looking for. How much HP are you looking to get or what is the goal that you are looking to achieve with the car? Down the road you may want to look into a supercharger or turbo... Both of those would compliment your set up PERFECTLY.

Welcome to the forum ftbl_60.

Looks like you have the basic mods all lined up. On the throttle body spacer the consensus is it isn't going to do anything for HP but it will whistle, put that $100+- into something else.

Once you get the basics you can move onto the real HP adders: CAM, milled and ported heads or the quick way Nitrous.

Good luck on the mods!
