Mold smell in 2007 Dodge Charger
I have a 2007 Dodge Charger that has a mold smell when I use the heater or the a/c. We’ve tried spraying Lysol into the air intake and have also taken it to a dealer who also used something that was sprayed into the air intake but nothing has helped. I’m fairly certain the condenser hose is clogged because I haven’t seen any water leaking after the a/c is run. Dealership says they would need to remove the dashboard in order to get to the condenser hose to check it. Is there another way to get to the hose or any other ideas that we could try would be great. Thanks
Sorry sda, I haven't seen this problem on any vehicle, but a clogged hose sounds like a good place to look. I know you were looking for answer about anything other than removal of the dash, but on these cars, everything is pretty much located behind the dash. The good news is that for a dealer, removal of the dash is a quick job, so don't worry about anything getting damaged or thinking that the job is something to extreme.
You do need to get that fixed though and quickly. If it is actually mold, everytime you and your passengers are breathing that in, it is making you sicker and sicker.
