Replacing the thermostat - '06 5.7L
The guy at Autozone says my check engine light is on because I need to replace my thermostat. So, I bought the part, and *should* be able to do this relatively easily, right?
Yes, it's no big task. Two bolts and a little fluid loss. Be sure to let it cool down prior to starting. I believe you'll need a 11 or 12mm wrench or socket (socket with a small extension is my choice of tool for this). You may need a small screwdiver to get the OEM t-stat to pop out, be careful not to damage the rubber gasket around it's edge of the t-stat which you will re-use.
