Default Any problems with Chargers mechanically?

I've got a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 and have plenty of mechanical and electrical problems. Such as power steering whining all the time and hardly working to having to replace the computer for the transmission. Has anyone had such problems with the new Chargers. I plan on trading my truck in for a 07 or newer V8 Charger. What are some cons about the new vehicles?

Thanks

So far the only repeated problem is the shifter and it is not all that bad. There is this pink safety piece that is located inside the shift module that likes to break. What it does is keeps you from shifting out of park. Although it doesn't happen on all the cars, it has happened enough times to get posted a few thousand times around the net. There are even youtube videos showing how to fix it. The good news about it is that it is a part that is covered under the standard warranty, so if it breaks, it will get fixed. More good news is that there is an aftermarket billet part that you can upgrade to that is much more durable.

There is a sticky thread at the top of this section that goes into more details. It also has a couple of the videos so you can see exactly what it is.

As far as everything else, not many problems have been mentioned. We get random things posted here just like any other model, but nothing real serious or repetitive. Especially on the V8 models. Mostly the 2.7 has little things with it. You'll be happy going with one of the 2 V8 models.

BTW, welcome to the forum.
