Default Cant Decide

I plan to purchase a used charger in the next couple weeks, and have 3 to choose from, but am not sure whats the best option.

The first option is a 2007 2.7L Charger. about 110 000km on it. I know its a nice few km's on it, but is it a lot for chargers? It does come with a 2 year power-train warranty as well. Right now i have a 2006 sebring touring with 2.7L in it with 144 000km and it runs great. I am also concerned the 2.7 wont be enough power for osmething the size of a charger. This is the cheapest option.

Next is a 2007 AWD 3.5L. I am leaning in this direction, but have heard mixed feelings about it. I will be driving this in the winter, and we do get A LOT of snow. However, i am slightly worried about transmission issues as well as cost of replacing tires. Assuming i have a set of winter and a set of summer, how long should i get out of them on average? About 80 000km on the car now.

The final option is a 2007 3.5L RWD. roughly 75 000km. About the same price as the AWD is. Only real difference is the RWD vs AWD. I have never really driven an RWD car in the winter. Handling wise, how different is this from my current FWD?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I would stay away from the 2.7 with that many km's. The engine is slighlty under powered for the car, but makes for a decent ride. I would just be worried about the previous owner maintaining the car.

Both the AWD and the RWD 3.5's are good choices. Both cars should all season tires on them already unless previous owner changed them for something out. The AWD will definately be better in the snow than a RWD. If you never have driven a RWD in the snow, the rear of the car will be all over the place if you aren't careful. The rear of the chargers are so light and easily breaks loose on wet/snowy corners. Makes for a fun ride, but if your new to it, it can be a little scary. The AWD will give a little better handling in the snow since some of the power is distributed to the front.

As far as choosing which car, I would go with the RWD. I am only a fan of the AWD when it comes to handling in bad weather. AWD cars can get expensive to maintain if you start having tranny problems and what not. The 3.5 engine is also a great engine. Not many problems posted about it here. Pretty strong.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks! That helps a lot! I felt the same about the 2.7L. It works fine in our current sebring, but i took it for a test drive, and it felt like it was hurting on the highway to get up to speed.

Since we get a lot of snow here, and even a lot of rain at time, it i am strongly considering the AWD. I have been told the AWD with all seasons is fine for the winter, but im still not to sure about that.

Thanks though! A little more research and i should be the owner of a nice charger next week!
