I drive a 2009 dodge charger interceptor for a PD. The check engine light came on while it was idling and the gear shift locked. Additionally all the gear indicators were highlighted as well as the number 8 was right of the D. Turned it off let it set for a few minutes cranked it back up the shifter was unlocked but the MIL is still on. Whats going on? The OBD shows code 1521 & 0103.

Welcome to the site. I think P1521 is the incorret oil type used and the p0103 is the MAF ( mass air flow ) sensor. I will move this thread to the Charger section,

Welcome to the forum Patrolmanb4. I’m not familiar with the interceptor model, what engine does it have?

If your running the correct oil the P1521 may be erroneous and possibly covered by a tsb, its an update to the pcm.

As for P0103, better check that code, as LX's don't have a MAF sensor unless it is a 3.0L Diesel, which isn't available in the US.

It should be under warranty, if that's the case it's time for a visit to the dealership.

I think it the 5.7 but am not sure. The P0103 is the second code that was displayed.

You sure it was a P0103? I'm thinking it was a U0103 code. It matches with what you're talking about. It means that communication to the gear shift module was lost. Again, this can be fixed with a PCM update from the dealer.

The reason I ask about the "P0103" is that it doesn't show up on our list of codes. The U0103 does. BTW, there is a list of the codes in a sticky in this forum titled DTC Codes here. It has them all for your future reference.
