i have a new 2011 RT/Max. when i bought my car, i was specifically looking for a rear axle ratio of at least 3.06. i did minimal research and from dodge's website, i thought i was in business with mine because dodge shows 3.92 for my max on their 'build your own' webpage. i asked the salesman to confirm that my rear alxe was 3.06 or better and he told me that the webpage was wrong about the 3.92, but it did have the 3.06 so i was sold. after driving for a while, i just could feel from experience and also by what mph i could run 1st gear in to, they definitely werent 3.06. so i requested build sheet from chrystler and my rear axle is 2.6. i am so pissed. i have been lied to multiple times by the salesman, he could just tell me he doesnt know. so i basically want to upgrade my rear end. i am looking for suggestions. i do not no much about he chrystler rear ends...... i dont know what my options are, how much it will cost (roughly), and how hard/realistically will it be. i would like the 3.92's if possible, but i can settle at 3.06 at the worst. i just want the pick-up of a well geared car. i grew up in a grand national with 3.42's and i jsut love the get up and go of a well geared car. i would greatly appreciate any help on how i should go about doing all of this. where can i get these gears, is it as simple as changing internal gears, will the dealer get it, can i find them at aftermarket company, and where can i get the work done? these are my main questions and i greatly appreciate all help that any of you give me.

thanks!!!!

so i found out that for about $900 in parts, $760 in labor, and $100 to flash the ECM, i can get rid of the lame 2.56's and put in a descent set of 3.06 gears. since the pumpkin will come straight from chrystler (because the 3.06's come in road/track models) and i will have the dealer install them and flash ECM, my warranty will not be void. makes me happy for the most part, i just wish i could get off a little cheaper on the labor, but idk if i have the new pumpkin installed by an outside complany, if it'll void the warranty??? DOES anyone know the answer to this??? i NEVER trust car salesmen nor do i listen to what they technically say about a car, but i dropped my gaurd with this purchase and believved the salesman............ now im really paying for it. if he would have actually understood the vehicles he was selling, he would have told me to order a RT road/track and then i would have been able to add all of the options that my RT max has so it would have been a fully loaded RT road/track.......... but i take some responsibility because i thought i researched the rear end issue well endough before i bought the car, but evidentally i didnt. and now i no what to do b4 my next purchase.
