Default Struts already?

hey guys im just wondering is it normal for struts to start going at 45k miles? i get noises everytime i hit bumps an i did tie rods an end links already still have a sound..

I don't think it is ur strut. More over, it is probably the radius arm that goes out in that mileage.

Lower radius tension arm. if you look under the car, you will see 2 control arm connects the subframe to the knuckle, the Front one is called a radius arm or tension strut arm. Just wack it with a rubber mallet, you will hear the clunk over bump.

when the car is parked an i push down on the fender i hear the creaks, when im driving i hit small ripples in the road i hear it.. when i approach a light an i stop an let the cars weight all shift to the front i hear it..

i change the sway bar end links last week
2 months ago i did tie rod ends
i relubed the bushings last week.

If the ball joints and Tension arm seems OK, then it could be the strut. Upper Ball joint goes out on these cars too. I am just saying Strut failure rate on Charger/magnum/300 are fairly low. Not saying they can't fail.

You really just have to go under the car and push and pull on all the ball joints.

Also, Is ur car All-wheel-drive?

no my car is RWD.. can you please if possible send me a pic of where the ball joints are on this car? new to all this an never changed them so not sure.. also how can i tell if it is the ball joints?

I googled this picture.


Just grab on the tension arm and yank it up and down., or hit it with a rubber hammer.
It is better to test it with Wheel Off Ground. So jack stand might be better than a rhino ramp.
