2006 dodge charger
My 2006 Dodge Charger shuts off while driving. What could be the problem since I have gotten answers sayings it the fuel pump, water pump, spark plugs or wires. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Does it restart right a way after it shut off?
does it just "fall on it's face" or "Runs rough for a minute and then eventually dies out?"
any check engine light? when does it usually happen? just randomly or only under certain driving/weather condition?
what engine does ur car have? how long have this been happening? any aftermarket acessories like remote start and alarms installed?
Cars nowaday, there are hundreds of things that can cause a die out condition, if you can provide us a few more detailed story, it will help.

The engine is a 5.7L and this problem has been going on for about a month now when the weather turned really hot. I do have an aftermarket intake on the car so the check engine light stays on. I never get any warning (rough idle) or anything before it dies and always starts right back up. Please let me know if you have any more questions. Thank you for the reply.
The intake should not be throwing a code. If you have the CEL on, then you most likely have an issue that needs addressed. Head to PepBoys or any other autoparts store and have them read you off the codes, clear them as well for now too. Then at the top of this section I have a thread with the 10 million (not really that many, but it seems like it) codes that these cars can throw and it will point you to where your problem is.
Just something additional that I can throw in, are you running at least midgrade gas or better. 89 octane or higher. Lower octane gas, unless the car is tuned for it, can cause stall outs.

Intake won't throw a code unless it's installed incorrectly. Or sometimes if there is a gap and air is getting in. Check your intake and make sure all the clamps are tight. If the check engine light wasn't on before with your intake then it either isn't the intake or it came loose. Other than that fuel filter would be my next guess. Spark plugs and wires usually don't go bad at the same time and usually cause a rough idle from a cylinder missing.

The 2.7 and 3.5 will, but the 5.7 won't
P1004 is the common one for the intake in those 2.

Yes, the short runner plates get gummed up and cause a actuator feedback code to set. That's the P1004.
I guess in theory one could take the plenum off and clean the plates, but I've never succeeded.
