My real question is why would they put a "rendering" of a Charger with a color / trim combination that isn't available on their main charger web page? I would think it would generate more questions then anything...
We agree!

I now understand what you are asking. Yes, I too am wondering why they did that. I thought the original picture of the TB Daytona was great. But marketing is marketing and sometimes unless you are directly involved in the decision making process we consumers are just clueless as to why they do what they do.

I'm days if not minutes away from telling my dealer to order me a charger. I will have the dayton blackout "stuff" one way or another, but I'm not real interested in buying a $30k plus car and then spending another $1,000 or so to get a new grill, spoilers, etc. so I guess its a dayton for me. I'm not trying to sound disappointed nor would I be disappointed, but if I had the car pictured as an option I may not be go man going.
Which ever you decide rakort, welcome to the club! If it wasn't for not being totally impressed by the regular R/T colors and learning about the Road&Track package until after I ordered (the first time). I too might have gone that route. I liked Magnesium and Silver Steel but did not LOVE them like I do the Go Mango. But things are as they happened and I am still waiting for mine to be born.

In my experience, a lot of marketing is intended to generate interest and discussion, not necessarily to get you to buy what you see. In this case, it seems to be working. We have a number of people discussing both the cars themselves and the add-ons they need to or want to buy.

Please don't think I agree with the marketing mindset; I'm just suggesting why they'd do something like this.

Well they changed it again. The took the same picture, edited in a chrome grill, left the chin spoiler on there and changed the shade of gray slightly.....

The grey looks a little bit like the (SRT8) silver now. Grill is wrong for the SRT8.
