Default Air Horn related questions

I am trying to figure out Air Horn solution for new to me '08 Charger SXT. I intend to keep my existing horn in place, and add whatever horn I decide to go with.

1. What horn to pick? I am looking for at least 140 dB dual tone,300-400 Hz range. Fully electric or direct drive air horn would do. I've had a compact dual air horn Stebel Nautilus with claimied 139 dB. It had decent sound, but I feel the it was not as loud as I wanted, and it seems the overall frequency was a bit high.

2. Placement of the horns is a bit of a challenge. I would prefer to place them in the rear (under the fuel tank), and do all wiring including air compressor inside the trunk - convenient access to the battery, too. Then would route wires and/or air hoses to the horn via the vents in the trunk. The only challenge is to pull the wires from the existing horn from the front in order to control the new horn.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Igor

depending on the type of sound you want will depend on the horn lengths. Do you want boat, train, or semi truck sound?

If you want louder, make sure you get large tubing, maybe quarter inch. Most cheaper kits come with eighth inch. More air, the louder. Also the pressure switch on the tank. Look for 120 psi rated switches. Again, most cheap kits come with 90. Now to get even more sound, when you install the horns, have them pointed down to the road. This will cause the sound to reverberate off the concrete.

the brand of compressor I would look for in the kits is a Viair. They are small and long lasting. The more money you spend, the quieter it can be too.

I did all of the above on my Ram and it was great.

Thanks. But I am looking into direct drive horns - i.e. no air tank. Those are low pressure horns, along the lines of 25 psi.

The other issue, how do I route the wire from the engine compartment to the trunk?
